Why it fits here

Built for how business runs in the UK.

UK businesses that outgrow a bookkeeping app usually do so because operations live elsewhere: the till in one system, hire contracts in a spreadsheet, jobs on a whiteboard. Flowyana puts the operations in the same platform as the books, so a sale, a hire return, or a finished job posts its own VAT-split voucher.

Making Tax Digital makes tax-split, digital records mandatory; it does not tell you which software. We do not claim HMRC-recognised MTD filing — confirm any vendor’s status on HMRC’s list, including ours — but the books you would file from are complete, live, and locked per period.

Compliance, stated plainly

E-invoicing and filing in the UK

Making Tax Digital for VAT applies to all VAT-registered businesses, which must keep digital records and file returns through compatible software. Making Tax Digital for Income Tax started in April 2026 for sole traders and landlords with income over £50,000, extending to £30,000 from April 2027. No general B2B e-invoicing mandate is in force.

What Flowyana does — and does not — claim

  • Does: posts VAT to its own ledger on every sale, purchase, expense, and POS settlement; keeps a tax summary that agrees with the ledger; puts your VAT registration number on every document; locks closed periods.
  • Does not: claim certified integration with any e-invoicing or filing platform. Get any vendor’s status in writing before you buy — including ours — and let your accountant confirm what and when you must file.

Questions

Flowyana in the UK, answered.

Are UK VAT rates set up?

Yes. The UK profile ships 20% standard, 5% reduced, and 0% zero-rated sales VAT plus a purchase-side 20% code, so input and output VAT post to their own ledgers and the tax summary shows both.

Is Flowyana MTD-compatible?

We do not claim recognition on HMRC’s Making Tax Digital software list. Check any vendor there before relying on it — including us. What Flowyana gives you is complete, digital, VAT-split records with locked periods, which is what MTD requires you to keep.

Can we invoice EU customers in euros?

Yes. Any currency can be used on a document; the exchange rate is carried into the voucher and reports read in sterling.
