For Bakeries & Patisseries

From the morning bake to the last loaf sold.

Bakery management software: write each recipe once, bake in batches that turn ingredients into finished stock, sell from a quick counter till, and record what goes unsold with a reason. Food cost, wastage and the day’s takings sit on the same books.

  • Recipes and bills of materials
  • Production orders that bake to stock
  • A counter till with day close
  • Wastage recorded with reasons

What a Bakeries & Patisseries setup on Flowyana covers.

Flowyana is bakery management software for bakeries, patisseries, cake shops and bake houses that bake for their own counters. Recipes hold the ingredients for each product, production orders turn flour, butter and sugar into finished stock, the counter till sells it, and unsold or spoiled stock is written off with a reason. Purchasing, food cost and accounting run in the same system.

A bakery’s margin disappears in the gap between what was bought and what was sold. Ingredients are used up without being counted, a tray is binned at closing and nobody records it, and the price of a cake is set once and never checked against what its butter now costs. Flowyana writes each step down as it happens, so ingredient use, output, sales and wastage are all on the record and the difference has names.

It suits a neighbourhood bakery in Abu Dhabi, a patisserie in Riyadh or a bakery chain in Mumbai. Bills carry GST or VAT at your rate with prices that can include tax, the till runs in Arabic or English, and amounts follow your currency.

The workflow

How bakeries & patisseries run on Flowyana.

  1. Recipe

    Write it once

Each product has its bill of materials, with ingredient quantities and a wastage percentage per ingredient.

  2. Bake

    Batches into stock

A production order uses up the ingredients and adds the finished goods to stock.

  3. Sell

    A quick counter

The till takes counter and takeaway orders by token, and the day closes with a Z report.

  4. Waste

    Unsold, on the record

Leftovers and spoiled stock are written off with a reason, and the wastage report shows the pattern.

In depth

A closer look.

Recipes and bills of materials for baked goods

Each product can have a bill of materials listing its ingredients and quantities, with a wastage percentage on each ingredient and any by-products. Keep a standard recipe and another for large batches, or give a branch its own, and the system picks the right one by date, branch and batch size, falling back to the default. Ingredients can be entered in the unit you stock or another unit that converts to it.

  • Several recipes per product, one default
  • Wastage percentage per ingredient
  • Recipes by branch, date or batch size
  • Ingredients in convertible units

Production orders: bake to stock

A production order copies the recipe, issues the ingredients from stock and, when completed, adds the finished goods to stock with the cost of what went in. Items made to order can instead deduct their ingredients when sold. The production report shows output over time, and the stock ledger shows every ingredient movement behind it.

  • Ingredients issued from stock
  • Finished goods added on completion
  • Or deduct ingredients when sold
  • Production report and stock ledger

A counter till for the morning rush

The till takes counter and takeaway orders with a token number, keyboard shortcuts keep a queue moving, and discounts follow a limit per cashier with a manager’s PIN above it. The installed app keeps selling when the internet drops. On the Restaurant + KOT plan, daily prices handle items whose price changes, and offers such as a breakfast combo or an evening markdown apply on their own.

  • Counter and takeaway orders by token
  • Discount limits with a manager PIN
  • Daily prices on Restaurant + KOT
  • Combos and time-window offers on Restaurant + KOT

Wastage, food cost and the books

Wastage, damage and expired stock are written off with a reason, and the wastage report shows the pattern by item and day. Owner dashboards show sales trends, busiest hours and item profit, and food cost and menu engineering show which items earn and which to rework. On the Restaurant + KOT plan, batches with expiry dates can be tracked and a central store can send stock to your outlets. Sales and purchases post to the books with tax split out.

  • Wastage with reasons and a report
  • Food cost and item profit
  • Batches and a central store on Restaurant + KOT
  • Accounting on Restaurant + KOT

Questions

Asked by bakeries & patisseries.

What is the best bakery management software in the UAE or India?

Flowyana is a strong fit for bakeries and cake shops in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and India that want recipes, production batches, a counter POS, wastage and accounting in one system. It does not take online orders or run a cake pre-order calendar.

Does the bakery POS work offline?

Yes, on the installed Flowyana app. It keeps taking counter orders and printing receipts without internet, and catches up when the connection returns. The Restaurant plan allows one offline device per branch and Restaurant + KOT three, and an extra till adds one more.

Is Flowyana bakery management software?

Yes. It runs recipes, production orders that bake ingredients into finished stock, a counter till, wastage with reasons, purchasing and accounting in one system.

Do recipes deduct ingredients from stock?

Yes. A production order takes ingredients out of stock per the recipe and adds the finished goods, or an item can deduct its ingredients each time it is sold.

Can we record unsold and wasted items?

Yes. Write stock off as wastage, damage or expired with a reason, and the wastage report shows what was lost and when.

Can prices change daily?

Yes, on the Restaurant + KOT plan. Set the day’s price for chosen items and the till uses it.

Can I scan barcodes on packaged goods?

Not on the Restaurant plans, which sell from menu buttons and search. A bakery that sells mostly packaged, barcoded goods may fit the Retail product better, though recipes and production are not part of it.

Can we take orders for celebration cakes in advance?

Not with a dedicated cake-order book. The Restaurant plans have no pre-order calendar with designs and pick-up slots. Sales orders can be added to the plan if you need to record orders ahead of the sale.

Can we supply cafés and hotels on account?

Yes. Raise sales invoices to trade customers and record their payments. Quotations and sales orders can be added to the plan if you need them.

Does it run a central bakery that supplies several outlets?

Yes, on the Restaurant + KOT plan. A central store sends stock to outlets with transfers, and each outlet sells and counts its own stock.

Does it work for bakeries in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and India?

Yes. Bills carry GST or VAT at your rate, prices can include tax, the till runs in Arabic or English, and amounts follow your currency. As of October 2026, Flowyana does not send e-invoices to a tax authority.
