What is Tables & floor in Flowyana?

Restaurant table management in Flowyana is the part of the point of sale that shows your dining room: its floors, sections and tables, what each table is doing, and the actions staff need during service. It is for restaurants, cafés, bars and lounges that seat guests at tables and take orders for dine-in, takeaway and delivery on the same till.

During a rush the questions are always the same. Which tables are free? Has table 8 had its bill? The party at 5 wants to move outdoors. Two couples at 3 and 4 want one bill. One guest wants to pay for her own dishes. Flowyana answers each with a tap on the floor view, and keeps the kitchen, stock and cash records straight when a bill is moved.

The floor view works on a restaurant branch that uses the browser till and on the Flowyana desktop app. Waiters can also use the waiter screen of the desktop app, joined to the main till over the restaurant’s network. There is no waiter mode in the browser till. A branch that needs waiters with their own screens runs on the desktop app.

At the end of service, the till helps you close properly: open orders must be settled or discarded before the day closes, and the cash is counted against what the till expected.

What it does

Tables & floor, in practice.

Floors and tables

Set up floors such as Main hall, Terrace or Private room, and add tables with a name, seats and shape. Group them by section.

Live table status

Tables show free, seated, bill printed or ready, with guests, items on the order and how long the table has been waiting.

Start an order in one tap

Tap a free table to start the order. A tap selects a table and a second tap opens it, so staff can check a table before they commit.

Move to another table

A party that changes tables takes its order with it, so nothing is rung up twice.

Merge bills

Combine two tables’ bills into one when friends sit together. Everything moves across, and the kitchen is not sent new tickets.

Split a bill

Pick the dishes that go to a new bill at the same table, so guests can pay separately. At least one dish stays on the first bill.

Takeaway and delivery beside dine-in

Takeaway and delivery orders start from their own tabs with token numbers, and wait in the open orders list until they are paid.

Find a table fast

Search for a table by name, filter the floor, or show every table, with function keys for move, merge, split and new order.

Pay at the table

Waiters using the desktop app’s waiter screen can take cash at the table, show a payment QR, or ask for the bill at the counter.

A day close that checks

Closing the day is blocked while orders are open, then counts the cash and prints the Z report with a restaurant section.

Included in Restaurant plans

Floors, tables and moving, merging and splitting bills come with every Restaurant plan. The waiter app is part of the Growth plans.

How it works

Tables & floor, step by step.

  1. 1

    Set up floors and tables

Add your floors, then your tables with name, seats and shape, and the section they belong to. The back office shows the same live status as the till.

  2. 2

    Choose how each branch runs

A branch uses either the browser till or the desktop app for its restaurant till, so two screens never fight over one order.

  3. 3

    Seat guests and take orders

Tap a free table, add dishes, and send them to the kitchen. The table turns to seated, with guests and a wait timer.

  4. 4

    Change tables, merge or split

Use the side panel on a selected table to move the party, merge the bill into another or split dishes to a new bill.

  5. 5

    Print the bill and settle

Print the bill, take payment, and the table goes back to free. Takeaway and delivery orders settle from their own list.

  6. 6

    Close the day

Settle or discard what is open, count the cash, and close with a Z report.

In depth

A closer look.

A floor view that tells you what is happening

The floor shows every table of the chosen floor as a card with its name, seats and status. Free tables are quiet. Seated tables show guests, items and how long they have been there. A table whose bill is printed stands out so staff can go and collect payment, and a table with dishes ready tells the floor to serve. Counters above the plan show open tables, running orders, covers and ready dishes. On a phone-sized screen the actions open in a bottom sheet instead of a side panel.

  • Free, seated, bill printed and ready states
  • Guests, items and wait time on each table
  • Counts of open tables, covers and ready dishes
  • Side panel on wide screens, sheet on small ones

Move, merge and split without losing the kitchen

Table changes are where restaurants usually lose track. In Flowyana they are single actions on the order. Moving a party carries the order to the new table, with everything already sent. Merging adds one bill’s dishes to another, and the kitchen gets no new ticket, because the dishes were already sent. Splitting opens a new bill at the same table with the dishes you pick, again without a new kitchen ticket.

  • Move carries the whole order to the new table
  • Merge adds one bill to another
  • Split to a new bill at the same table
  • No duplicate kitchen tickets

Dine-in, takeaway and delivery on one till

Not every order has a table. Takeaway and delivery orders start from their own tabs, take a token number, and wait in the open orders list until they are paid. An order that still needs a table is flagged, because it cannot go to the kitchen or be paid without one. Menu prices and offers can be set per channel, so dine-in, takeaway and delivery can each have their own.

  • Takeaway and delivery tabs with token numbers
  • Orders without a table are flagged
  • Prices and offers per channel
  • One open-orders list until paid

Closing the day with open orders under control

A restaurant should not end the night with half-settled tables. When you start the day close, the till lists the orders still open on the counter. Settle them, or void one from its bill. An order that has never reached the kitchen can be discarded straight from that list. After that, count the cash by notes or enter a total, and the till shows whether the drawer is balanced, short or over. The Z report includes a restaurant section.

  • Open orders must be cleared first
  • Discard orders that never reached the kitchen
  • Cash count by notes or total
  • Z report with a restaurant section

Waiters, the desktop app and the browser till

The browser till suits a cashier or captain on a computer, tablet or phone browser, and needs the internet. For waiters taking orders at the table, the desktop app on macOS or Windows has a waiter screen joined to the main till over the restaurant’s own network. It lists the floor with “My tables” or all tables, takes orders from the menu, sends them to the kitchen, shows when dishes are ready and lets the waiter take cash or show a payment QR. Move, merge and split are available in the desktop app’s till as well.

  • Browser till: online, any browser
  • Desktop app: works through internet drops
  • Waiter screen with My tables and kitchen alerts
  • Cash or payment QR at the table

Questions

Asked about tables & floor.

What is restaurant table management software?

Software that shows your dining room, with floors, tables and their status, and lets staff seat guests, move parties, merge and split bills and keep the kitchen and payments in step. Flowyana includes it in its restaurant point of sale.

Can I split a bill in Flowyana?

Yes. Pick the dishes that go to a new bill at the same table. The first bill keeps at least one dish, and the kitchen is not sent anything new.

Can I merge two tables into one bill?

Yes. Merge one open bill into another and everything on it moves across. No new kitchen ticket is made.

Can I move a customer to another table after ordering?

Yes. Move the order to the free table and everything on it goes with it.

Does it support takeaway and delivery orders?

Yes. They start from their own tabs, get a token number and wait in the open orders list until they are paid, next to the dine-in tables.

Is there a waiter app?

The Flowyana desktop app, for macOS and Windows, has a waiter screen that joins the main till over the restaurant’s network, with My tables, ordering, kitchen alerts and payment at the table. There is no Android or iPhone app, and the browser till has no waiter mode.

Does the table view work without internet?

The desktop app keeps working over the restaurant’s own network when the internet is down. The browser till needs an internet connection.

Can I run different floors like terrace and indoor?

Yes. Add as many floors as you need, each with its own tables, seats and sections, and switch between them on the floor view.

Can I see table status from the back office?

Yes. The floors and tables page shows the same live status of each table as the till.

What stops me closing the day with open tables?

The day close lists the orders still open on the counter and will not continue until each is settled, voided or, if it never reached the kitchen, discarded.

Is it suitable for restaurants in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and India?

Yes. Table management works with your tax (GST or VAT) and your currency, in restaurants across the Gulf, India and elsewhere.
