Questions
About tax on invoices.
How does tax-inclusive pricing work?
When a price already includes tax, the net amount is price ÷ (1 + rate). At 5%, an item sold for 105.00 has a net of 100.00 and tax of 5.00. Retail and restaurant prices are usually inclusive; trade quotes are usually exclusive.
What is the two-component split for?
Some tax regimes show one rate as two equal halves on the invoice — for example an intra-state GST supply in India printed as CGST and SGST. The split divides the calculated tax in two; it does not change the total.
Can I use different rates on different lines?
Yes. Each line carries its own rate, and the summary groups net, tax, and total by rate — the same breakdown a tax summary or invoice footer needs.
Is this a compliant tax invoice?
No — it is a calculator. A compliant invoice needs your registration numbers, sequential numbering, the customer’s details, and whatever your country’s rules require. Software that raises invoices does that for you; ask your accountant what applies to you.
Invoices that split tax by themselves.
In Flowyana you define your tax rates once; every invoice, purchase, and POS sale splits and posts them automatically, with a tax summary read live from the books. See it on your own setup.
