Customer display

Show the bill to the customer, and your promos between sales.

A second screen facing the customer shows each item as it is rung up, the running total and what they saved, then a scan-to-pay code at payment and a thank-you. Between sales it plays your own promo slides.

  • Items and total appear as they are scanned
  • “You save” lines when a discount applies
  • A payment QR at the payment step
  • Your own promo slides while the till is idle

What is Customer display in Flowyana?

A customer-facing display, also called a customer display or second screen, is a small monitor that faces the shopper at the checkout and shows what is being rung up. Flowyana’s customer display is for shops that want customers to check the items and price as they are scanned, see the discounts they receive and pay by scanning a code, and for owners who want a screen to carry their own promotions.

It builds trust at the counter. Customers see every price when it is entered, which cuts disputes and mistakes, and a “You save” line makes discounts visible instead of buried in a receipt. When no one is being served, the same screen plays your slides, so the counter works as a small billboard for new arrivals, offers and brand messages.

The display has four states: waiting with your slides, billing, paying and done. It follows the cashier without extra work. There is nothing to key in twice, and the figures are always the same as on the till and the receipt.

Customer display is available on retail tills, in the browser and in the Flowyana desktop app for macOS and Windows. In the browser it opens in a second window on the same computer; in the desktop app it opens on a second monitor.

What it does

Customer display, in practice.

The bill, live

Each item appears on the customer’s screen as the cashier adds it, with quantity, unit price and line amount. The newest line is highlighted for a moment.

Totals the customer trusts

Subtotal, discount, service charge, round-off and the total to pay are all shown in your currency, matching the receipt.

“You save” on screen

A discount shows as the old price and the amount saved on the line, and a total saved on the bill, in a positive colour.

Scan to pay

At payment the screen shows the amount due, what has been paid and what remains, with a QR code from the payment method you set up, for customers to scan with their payment app.

Thank-you screen

After the sale, the screen shows the amount paid, the change, how much was saved today and a goodbye with your shop’s name.

Your promo slides

Upload up to 12 slides with an optional headline and caption. They play while the till is idle, and optionally beside the bill during a sale.

Set speed and order

Choose how many seconds each slide shows, reorder them, hide one for a while without deleting it.

Your brand

The screen carries your shop’s name and logo and the name of the cashier serving.

Light, dark and Arabic

It follows the till’s light or dark theme and its language direction, and has wording in English, Arabic, French, German, Spanish and Hindi.

Web and desktop app

Open it from the browser till as a second window, or switch it on in the desktop app to show on a second monitor.

Included in Retail plans

The customer display comes with every Retail plan, in the browser till and the desktop app.

How it works

Customer display, step by step.

  1. 1

    Add your slides

In Receipt settings, open Customer display, upload slides (1920 by 1080 works best), add headlines and captions and set the seconds per slide.

  2. 2

    Choose branch or all branches

Set the slides once for every branch, or give a branch its own set.

  3. 3

    Connect the screen

Plug in the second monitor. In the browser till choose Customer display in the top bar, and drag the window to the customer’s screen. In the desktop app switch it on in the device settings.

  4. 4

    Ring up a sale

The screen switches from slides to the bill as soon as the first item is added.

  5. 5

    Take payment

At payment the screen shows the amount due and a scan-to-pay code, and then the thank-you with change and savings.

In depth

A closer look.

What the customer sees at each step

While the till is idle, the screen welcomes the customer with your shop’s name and plays your slides. As soon as an item is added it shows the bill: item names, quantities, unit prices and line totals, a running total, and any discount with “You save”. At payment it shows the amount due, the amount already paid and what remains. When the sale is done it says thank you, shows what was paid and the change, and the total saved. Then it returns to the slides.

  • Idle, billing, paying and thank-you screens
  • Every figure matches the till and receipt
  • Savings per line and for the whole bill
  • Returns to slides after each sale

Promo slides you control

Upload up to twelve images, each with an optional headline and caption, and choose how long each one shows. Reorder them, hide one for a campaign that has ended, and decide whether the slides keep running beside the bill during a sale. Slides can be set for all branches or for one branch only, so a flagship store can run its own message. Images are uploaded from the same screen where you set up receipts.

  • Up to 12 slides with headline and caption
  • Seconds per slide and slide order
  • Hide a slide without deleting it
  • Optional promos beside the bill

Scan to pay on the customer’s side

When a payment method with a scan-to-pay code is chosen, the customer display shows the code with the amount, so the customer can scan it with their payment app while the cashier waits for confirmation. The code comes from the payment method you configured in Flowyana. If a method has no code, the screen shows the amount due only.

  • Amount due, paid and remaining
  • QR from the payment method you set up
  • Shown in the customer’s language
  • No code shown when a method has none

Works the way your till does

The browser till opens the display in a second window on the same computer, and keeps it in step as the cashier works. It needs the browser till to stay open. The desktop app opens the display on a second monitor from a switch in its device settings. The wording follows the till’s language, and Arabic displays right to left. Light or dark follows the till’s theme.

  • Browser till: second window, full screen
  • Desktop app: second monitor
  • English, Arabic, French, German, Spanish, Hindi
  • Follows the till’s theme

Questions

Asked about customer display.

What is a customer-facing display in a POS?

A second screen facing the customer that shows the items being rung up, the total and the discounts, and later the payment step. In Flowyana it also plays your own promotional slides when the till is idle.

Does Flowyana support a second monitor for customers?

Yes. The desktop app for macOS and Windows opens the customer display on a second monitor, and the browser till opens it as a separate window you can place on the second screen.

Can the screen show promotions or ads?

Yes. Upload up to 12 slides with an optional headline and caption, set the seconds per slide, and choose whether they also run beside the bill during a sale.

Can customers pay by scanning a QR on the screen?

Yes, where the payment method has a scan-to-pay code configured. The screen shows the code with the amount due. If a method has no code, only the amount is shown.

Does it show discounts and savings?

Yes. Discounted lines show what the customer saves, and the bill and the thank-you screen show the total saved.

Can I show different slides in different branches?

Yes. Set slides for all branches, or give a branch its own, which replaces the default for that branch.

Does the customer display support Arabic?

Yes. The wording is available in Arabic, English, French, German, Spanish and Hindi, and an Arabic till shows the screen right to left.

Does it work for restaurants?

The customer display is included in the Retail plans. It is not listed in the Restaurant plans.

Do I need special hardware?

No. Any second monitor connected to the till computer will do.

Does it work on a tablet or phone?

There is no phone or tablet app. The display is for a second monitor connected to a computer running the browser till or the desktop app.

Can I use it in the UAE, Saudi Arabia or India?

Yes. Amounts show in your currency, and the screen follows your tax setup, whether GST or VAT, since the figures match the till.
