What is Printers, receipts & devices in Flowyana?

Flowyana POS printer setup and receipt design cover the hardware at your counter: receipt printers, kitchen printers, the cash drawer, barcode scanners and a customer display, plus the design of the receipt each branch prints. It is for shops, supermarkets, cafés and restaurants in the Gulf, India and elsewhere.

Printers are added once in the back office, each with a role, a connection and its paper settings, and every till in the branch uses them. A receipt printer can open the cash drawer on cash sales, and a kitchen printer serves a station such as the grill or the bar. You can test the connection and send a test page without walking to the till.

The receipt is designed per branch with a live preview: shop identity, logo, tax registration and tax breakup, an item code label, a payment QR, paper size and layout, a savings line and your footer. Kitchen tickets get their own header, copies and options, with overrides per station.

At the counter, ordinary barcode scanners just work, the browser till can scan with the camera, and a second screen can show the customer their bill.

What it does

Printers, receipts & devices, in practice.

Receipt and kitchen printers

Add each printer with its role: Receipt for the counter, Kitchen (KOT) for a station such as Tandoor or Bar.

Network or USB

Connect a printer over the shop’s network by its address, or by USB to one till. The desktop app can search the network and the till’s USB printers for you.

58 mm or 80 mm paper

Set paper width, characters per line and how the printer cuts: full, partial or no cut.

Cash drawer kick

A receipt printer can open the cash drawer on cash sales, on the pin the drawer is wired to.

Test from the back office

Run a connection test and a test print from the browser. The check goes through a till that is online in that branch.

Receipt design per branch

Shop name, address, phone, up to three extra header lines, logo, tax ID and tax note, with a live preview. Set it for all branches and override per branch.

Tax and item details

Show the tax breakup and each item’s tax rate, and an item code such as HSN under a label you choose.

Payment QR and options

Print a payment QR from a payment link or a UPI ID, a savings line, a bill-number barcode, the counter, and your footer.

Kitchen ticket settings

Header, number of copies, waiter and time, and whether cancelled items print, with overrides per station.

Scanners and camera

Barcode scanners work at the till as they are. The browser till can also scan with the device’s camera, with a torch button for dim counters.

In depth

A closer look.

POS receipt printer and kitchen printer setup

Each printer has a name, a role and a connection: Network, by address and port, or USB on one till. Set paper width to 58 or 80 mm, characters per line, and cut mode. Receipt printers can kick the cash drawer on cash sales, on the pin it is wired to. Kitchen printers are linked to a station, can beep when a ticket prints, and are picked in the order you set. The desktop app can find printers on the network and USB printers on the till, and printer changes made there reach every till.

  • Receipt or Kitchen (KOT) role
  • Network or USB connection
  • Paper width, characters and cut
  • Drawer kick and kitchen beep

Test without leaving the office

From the printer list in the back office, Test connection checks that the printer answers, and Test print sends a test page. Both run through a till that is online in the same branch, so the result is what the till itself sees. If no till is online, the page says so in plain words.

  • Test connection
  • Test print
  • Runs through a till in the branch
  • Plain-word results

Receipt design with a live preview

Receipt Design sets what each branch prints, with a workspace default and a design per branch. Shop identity covers name, address, phone and up to three extra header lines, such as a registration number. Tax and compliance show your tax label, tax ID and an optional tax note, with the tax breakup, item tax rate and item code. Payments add a payment link or UPI ID and a QR. Receipt options choose 58 mm, 80 mm or A4, a detailed or compact item layout, a savings line, a bill-number barcode, the counter and the footer. Batch numbers, expiry dates and warranty lines can print under items.

  • Workspace default and branch designs
  • Tax ID, tax breakup and item code
  • Payment QR on receipts
  • 58 mm, 80 mm or A4

Kitchen tickets, till overrides and devices

Kitchen ticket settings choose the header, the number of copies, whether the waiter and time print and whether cancelled items print, with overrides per station. Till overrides give one counter its own payment details and footer. Desktop tills are paired to the workspace and appear under Point of Sale, Devices, where an old till can be revoked. The browser till prints through the computer’s printer and can scan with the camera.

  • Kitchen ticket copies and options
  • Station and till overrides
  • Paired devices you can revoke
  • Camera scanning in the browser till

Questions

Asked about printers, receipts & devices.

Which receipt printers work with Flowyana POS?

Thermal receipt printers on 58 mm or 80 mm paper, connected over the shop’s network or by USB to the till. Add each one in the back office with its paper width, characters per line and cut mode.

How do I set up a kitchen printer?

Add a printer with the role Kitchen (KOT), connect it over the network or by USB, and link it to a kitchen station. Kitchen tickets for that station print there.

Can I test a printer from the back office?

Yes. Use Test connection and Test print on the printer. The check runs through a till that is online in the same branch and reports whether the printer answered.

Can the receipt printer open the cash drawer?

Yes. Turn on drawer kick for the receipt printer and pick the pin the drawer is wired to. The drawer opens on cash sales.

How do I customise the POS receipt in Flowyana?

Open Receipt Design. Set the shop name, address, phone, extra header lines, logo, tax ID, tax breakup, payment QR, paper size, item layout and footer, and watch the preview update.

Can each branch have its own receipt?

Yes. Set a design for all branches, then override it for a branch. Individual tills can also have their own payment details and footer.

Can I print a QR code for payment on the receipt?

Yes. Turn on QR on receipts and enter a payment link or, in India, a UPI ID. The QR prints on the receipt for the customer to scan.

Can I print receipts on A4?

Yes. Receipt design offers 58 mm and 80 mm thermal rolls and A4 sheets.

Does the browser till need special hardware?

No. The browser till prints through the computer’s printer setup and works with an ordinary barcode scanner, or the device camera for scanning.

What POS hardware do I need for a shop or restaurant in the UAE or India?

A Windows or macOS computer or a browser device, a thermal receipt printer, a barcode scanner, a cash drawer wired to the printer and, for restaurants, kitchen printers or a kitchen screen. A second screen can serve as a customer display.
