Flowyana vs ERPNext: open-source ERP you shape yourself, or a ready platform on a published plan?
ERPNext is a free, open-source ERP from Frappe: accounting, stock, manufacturing, CRM, projects, support, and a cloud point of sale. You can host it yourself or on Frappe Cloud, and a network of partners sets it up. Flowyana is a ready-made platform sold per product line, with the setup done alongside you.
In short
Choose ERPNext if you want open-source software you can host, modify, and extend, and you have in-house technical staff or a partner to implement it. Choose Flowyana if you want a finished platform with accounting, POS, inventory, CRM, HR and payroll on a published plan, with GST or VAT configured and Arabic–English documents out of the box.

Where Flowyana differs
What changes if you choose Flowyana.
Ready on day one
Flowyana is configured, not built. Chart of accounts, tax rates, and documents are set up with you, so you are not hiring a partner for a project before the first invoice.
Priced by what you run
Plans are published per product with users and branches included, so a shop, a rental firm, and a clinic each buy their own line.
Offline tills
The POS keeps selling and printing without a connection, then syncs, over the same stock and books as the back office.
Gulf and India together
GST and VAT are settings, and documents print in Arabic and English side by side, so a Kochi wholesaler and a Dubai trader run the same product.
Being fair
When ERPNext is the better choice.
- You want to own the software: host it on your own server, read the source, and change how it works. ERPNext is open source under GPL-3.0; Flowyana is a hosted subscription.
- You need e-invoicing with IRN in India. ERPNext’s India Compliance app states it supports it; Flowyana generates no e-invoices or e-way bills.
- You run deep manufacturing with subcontracting, job cards, and quality inspections. ERPNext lists these modules; Flowyana’s production module is lighter.
- You have a developer team or a trusted partner and want to build features specific to your business.
If that sounds like you, we would rather say so now than after a demo. If it does not, book one and judge for yourself.
Questions
Asked when comparing with ERPNext.
Is Flowyana a good ERPNext alternative?
Yes, for a business that wants a finished platform rather than a project. Flowyana covers accounting, POS, inventory, CRM, HR and payroll, and more on published plans. If you want to modify the software itself or host it yourself, ERPNext is the closer fit.
What is the difference between Flowyana and ERPNext?
ERPNext is free open-source software you host and implement through a partner or yourself. Flowyana is a hosted platform sold per product line, with setup done alongside you and no source to maintain.
Is ERPNext cheaper than Flowyana?
The software is free, but ERPNext’s own pricing page says costs come from hosting and implementation. Flowyana’s prices are published and include the platform; compare against your own hosting and partner costs.
Does Flowyana do GST e-invoicing like ERPNext?
No. We do not claim Invoice Registration Portal or e-way bill integration. As of October 2026, e-invoicing applies above ₹5 crore turnover; if that is you, check your obligations with your CA. Your invoices are already GST-split, HSN-coded records.
Which suits a business in the Gulf?
Flowyana offers configurable VAT, Arabic as a full workspace language with right-to-left layout, and bilingual printed documents. ERPNext’s pages describe configuring tax for almost any country and partner-built localisations; they do not list languages.
Does Flowyana have a point of sale?
Yes. Retail and restaurant tills are built in, work offline, and post into stock and the books. ERPNext describes a cloud-based POS with multi-store support.
Can we move from ERPNext to Flowyana?
Yes. Onboarding loads your products, clients, suppliers, and price lists, and we set up your chart of accounts and tax rates with you. Talk to us about opening balances and history for your case.
Do we need technical staff to run Flowyana?
No. It is hosted for you and used from a browser. Roles and settings are managed by your own administrator.
