Flowyana vs Vyapar: a GST billing app, or a platform where billing writes the books?

Vyapar is GST billing, accounting, and inventory software for Indian small businesses, with apps for Android and iOS and a desktop app for Windows and Mac. Flowyana is a browser-based platform where billing is one module among many — and where the sale, the stock, the till, and the staff write the accounting themselves.

In short

Choose Vyapar if you bill from a single phone or PC, want GST e-invoices and e-way bills from the same app, or want to start on a free mobile plan. Choose Flowyana if you want full double-entry books written by every sale, purchase, and payroll run, with branches, staff, and a dedicated POS in the same system, on a published plan.

Where Flowyana differs

What changes if you choose Flowyana.

The books are written by operations

In Flowyana a POS sale, an invoice, a purchase receipt, or a payroll run posts its own double-entry voucher, so the trial balance and GST summaries are current every day.

Branches, not separate firms

Each branch keeps its own GSTIN, documents, cash sessions, and staff inside one workspace, while the owner reads per-branch and combined reports.

Staff and payroll in the same system

Payslips come from salary structures, attendance, and leave, and the cost posts to the books — no second product for the team.

Buy what you run

A shop buys POS, inventory, and accounting; a service business adds jobs, bookings, or rentals later over the same records.

Being fair

When Vyapar is the better choice.

  • You need GST e-invoices (IRN) or e-way bills from your billing software today. Vyapar states it creates both; Flowyana generates neither.
  • You want to start on a free plan. Vyapar has a free mobile plan; Flowyana sells published paid plans.
  • Your staff work in Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, or Kannada. Flowyana’s workspace is in English and Hindi for India, plus four international languages.
  • You are a single shop with no staff, branches, or payroll to bring into the same system, and billing with GST reports is all you need.

If that sounds like you, we would rather say so now than after a demo. If it does not, book one and judge for yourself.

Questions

Asked when comparing with Vyapar.

Is Flowyana a Vyapar alternative for a small shop?

Yes, for a shop that wants the till, the stock, and the books in one system. Every sale posts to the books with its GST components split, and the POS keeps selling offline. If you want a free plan or need e-way bills, Vyapar is the closer fit.

Does Flowyana generate GST e-invoices or e-way bills like Vyapar?

No. We do not claim Invoice Registration Portal or e-way bill integration. As of October 2026, e-invoicing applies above ₹5 crore turnover; if that is you, check your obligations with your CA. Your invoices are already GST-split, HSN-coded records.

Does payroll handle PF, ESI, and TDS filings?

No. Payroll builds payslips from salary structures, attendance, and leave, and posts the cost to your books, but it does not produce PF, ESI, or TDS returns.

Can we move from Vyapar to Flowyana?

Yes. Onboarding loads your products, clients, suppliers, and price lists, and we set up your chart of accounts and GST rates with you. Talk to us about opening balances and history for your specific case.
